The President's state of health
The President's state of health has been a major news for a while now with everyone having one or two things to say. A newspaper even said while giving a news on it that some other papers have become Medical Report giving up to date information about his condition.
Yar'Adua who went out of the country for medical attention says he's okay but to many, that seems rather unpalatable to their hearing, rather they prefer to pollute the environment with non-issues. Some even went as far as debating who'll succeed him in office, that is to tell you the extent to which they wish him.
I'm not surprised at that since some even said it before the election that brought him into power that the former president OBJ intentionally wants him as president because he knows his health is bad and will soon pack off (dead) and that definitely is because he doesn't want to directly handover to an easterner (Jonathan). Anyway, while some are wishing him dead most especially his political rivals, others are praying to God to revive him.
The good God in his infinite mercies will see him through this period and restore his health to a good state that'll get him sound, up and doing.
Another "money-eater"
Another news is that of the creation a new ministry (Ministry of Niger Delta) to look into the affairs of the area. When i saw this in the dailies my first thought was that another avenue have been provided for some to loot and divert public funds for personal use.
It is believed by some that it is a good idea all because the president is being sincere in trying to make up for the wrongs in the region but how about the NDDC, MEND, Technical Committe on Niger Delta, have they all been unyielding? From my own perspective, it really is uncalled for because as at present, it has given rise to other issues like some (state) demanding for more allocation and more which are yet to show up. I think it had better been looked into as well as the other ministries created alongside it may even compound the problem if not properly manned.
