My Stay

What seems like "ah it's still a long time" is now a year ago undergoing attachment popularlly called IT. In the last one year going down memory lane, so much has happened at work, home and amidst friends all claiming this is a big boy not knowing that all 'na efizzy' because it looks like you're in money to them. Anyway, many more things has occurred, the good, bad and maybe ugly. I'll be off to academics soonest and back for good, a good comeback it will be with God on my side making everything possible for me.

Choked Corner

Making decisions is something of everyday but sometimes, making a decision could be critical as hell all because the decision goes a long in shaping one's future. This very period, i'm faced with a very serious issue and making a simple decision seem so complicated that advice from various quarters makes it damn difficult. I pray that my decision doesn't mar the future wherein i'll have to regret negatively.

Is There Much Difference Really?

Who are those comprised of and what exactly is the "Power Holding Party", don't hesitate to tell me if you know. But as for the "Power Holding Company of Nigeria" (PHCN) who we know like money are bunch of ....... (dunno what to call them) are a force we've come to reckon with in Nigeria. I no longer expect power except on Sundays to iron my clothes and do some other stuffs. It might sound funny if i tell you that when i see electricity supply during the week, i'm surprised because virtually all homes now own a generator set, though i don't have one.

NAFDAC Messiah In The Telecomms Industry

The popular saying "what man can do, a woman can do better" used to be taken as a mere woman talk until the likes of Ndi Onyuike-Okereke (SEC), Obiageli Ezekwesili (Madam due process of Education), Okonjo Iweala (Finance) and Prof. Dora Akunyili of NAFDAC took giant steps at proving that by doing their best in their various positions. Okereke still at SEC is doing great while Obiageli is now in the international scene together with Iweala but in the case of Dora Akunyili, being a strong force in NAFDAC despite the threats she received as the DG there has been lifted to the post of a Minister in the Telecommunications sector. At first many has the opinion she might not perform well as she did in NAFDAC, but news has told us of how she wants things to take a new turn ranging from the directive to all GSM operators to lessen their tarriffs as the services provided by them is being complained about by subscribers and also to make better their services in terms of fluctuating netw...

Trust Nigerians To It

Nigeria,a state with people of diverse opinion, views and orientation, i was taken aback sometimes ago when i saw an inscription "teach me the rules,i'll show you how to break them". This caption i may say fit in to the case of helmet and okada riders in Lagos as the image was taken of an okada who i may say was trying to beat the law or maybe acting wise Anyway i wouldn't blame some who thread his part as i've heard of a person in the north who used a calabash as crash helmet and another in Lagos still who used a stainless plate, because a typical Nigerian makes use of ample opportunity as the prices of the helmet have rised geometrically to around =N=6,000 to =N=8,000 and the funniest is that it will be hoarded. In the case of this guy up here though,he definitely must be something else cos he has an helmet hung to the front of the bike.Na naija for you.

'Okada' and Helmet

Motorcycle or 'Okada' as they are often referred to in the city of Lagos is one means of transportation preferred by majority because it's rather fast and doesn't get trapped in traffic like motor vehicles. It recently was mandated after series of attempts to regulate their operation by Lagos State Govt that all okada riders must use crash helmet. It however became pertinent that for one to ride on a bike, one must use a bike giving birth to "Operation no Helmet,Get Arrested".I bragged at home not to use the helmet but things changed when this week i couldn't help the situation when all refused to take me if i wouldn't use the helmet.o boy! without much ado i had to jump before they do more than enough 'shakara'. On the bike,i looked myself at the mirror to see how i look after using an handkerchief and the 'hard face-cap' called helmet with different types of helmets used by the riders, man i thought for a while and i was like a dispatch...

Happy New Year

A few things happened in the last hours of 2008 after i had dropped my last blog for the year,i left work around past 4pm with one of the staff buses enroute Sango then to get another Abeokuta. In the bus heading for Abk,i started wondering how the night was gonna look like cos it apparently was the first time i'll be entering a new year outside Lagos. The bus saw women shouting at the driver at intervals that he was speeding, you'd agree with me that it was foolish of a vehicle and the owners to ride a bus without horn and instead of horning, the driver was busy drumming with the steering playing one of Ayefele's album,as wonders will never cease,he went dancing again. Later when some of the women wouldn't stop,he had to shout back at them, then the front tyre hit something when he wouldn't pass the middle of the express which sent the bus off balance. We found out after parking at a side of the bush that the tyre had gone flat and the realm had pressed forming a diff...
