Happy New Year
A few things happened in the last hours of 2008 after i had dropped my last blog for the year,i left work around past 4pm with one of the staff buses enroute Sango then to get another Abeokuta. In the bus heading for Abk,i started wondering how the night was gonna look like cos it apparently was the first time i'll be entering a new year outside Lagos.
The bus saw women shouting at the driver at intervals that he was speeding, you'd agree with me that it was foolish of a vehicle and the owners to ride a bus without horn and instead of horning, the driver was busy drumming with the steering playing one of Ayefele's album,as wonders will never cease,he went dancing again.
Later when some of the women wouldn't stop,he had to shout back at them, then the front tyre hit something when he wouldn't pass the middle of the express which sent the bus off balance. We found out after parking at a side of the bush that the tyre had gone flat and the realm had pressed forming a different shape, thank God he wasn't speeding at that time cos the bus might probably had tumbled and who knows what might have happened?
Much of the thanks came when we got to know he had extra tyre and realm and everyone started saying different things like it was those shouting who convinced him while some other guys were sying women are a pain inthe neck and those of them that shout in buses have skeleton in their cupboards and are afraid of nemesis catching up with them.
In less than what i expected,it was fixed with guys in the bus leding a hand but i was sitted somewhere on the floor ahead of other passengers where two fools were exchanging words (a guy and a girl),after the whole thing, the driver was compelled to stop the music and different topics rented the air.The two fools continued and i was forced to shout at them to keep mum, soon we got to our destination and i headed for the first place i needed to be,meeting the person's absence i reached heron phone and when she said she'd be taking long i had to leave.
The bike i stopped to take me to my uncle's place started useless conversation which wasn't any relevant to me and i had to leave him talking an answer him once in a while so it won't look as if i'm deaf. The environment was not like what used to be in Lagos where the sound of knockout alone won't let you rest. I had slept before normal time since there was no power and the environment has nothing to offer me but it was like hell with the heat so tense and whenit was 12am when 2009 finally came,i couldn't sleep any longer with text messages getting to my phone.
The night wasn't smooth at all and when morning came,i had my prayer and got to get what brought me to Egba and made to leave back to Lagos. It was boring and tiring cos students were on hols and the whole area looks like a grave yard except for those places dominated by 'indigos' as we somtimes call them (indigenes). Anyway its 2009,trusting the good Lord it will be a whole lot better than 2008.
