Salary Review
Some days back,it was aired in the news that a change will be effected on the remuneration of the Legislative arm of government.This immediately became a concern for me as the proposed increment is not justifiable in the foregoing of the country.
The just called off strike of the NUT is a typical scenario,the strike though very unhealthy for students,most especially ones of public schools.We all know why these teachers embarked on the strike that lasted 5 weeks,salary upgrade of course.These are the set of people who in the actual sense of it needs a review.
Moreover,the teachers as we know are a force to be reckoned with in any society as you can not be where you are without passing through a teacher.Gone were the days when the popular saying "The reward of teachers are in heaven" operates,these days it is argued that their reward begins here on earth.
However,some points which against that of the legislators range from the fact that there used to be a time when some legislators were only figure-heads at the house concuring with whatever is been said,all they just do is "I Support" when ordinarily,their people expect so much from them,but thank God sometimes not too long ago it was aired that some legislators were suspended for not contributing positively to the activities at the National Assembly because all they do is take part in the sitting and get allowances.
Also,it is argued that most of the very vital and germain things that'll help move the nation forward are not debated upon rather on what benefit them as individuals on the political terrain.I hope you do not forget that all they do when they get to seat is to recover all expenses incurred during their campaign into such positions.
These and lots more are to be put in place,the labour in this case has risen against it and i hope they win this one out as this is just a mere waste of national cake.The teachers who negotiations were concluded with should be effected,pensioners be paid,civil servants be properly remunerated and the economy at large be made a better one for masses.
